They Make 6 figures by teaching you how to make 6 figures

Behind the Scenes of a $10K Business Coaching Scam (Yes, I Was There)

There’s a certain type of event that promises you everything — wealth, freedom, success — all wrapped in a luxurious hotel ballroom and sold with the perfect pitch. They lure you in with free entry, friendly hosts, glossy brochures, and that unshakable promise: “You, too, can make six figures.” I’ve been behind the camera for a lot of events — weddings, business summits, concerts — but this one? This one was different. This one stuck with me, and not in a good way.

So here’s a true story. I won’t name names. If I did, the guy would probably try to hunt me down.

When the Six-Figure Dream Becomes a Sales Trap

I was hired to do photography and some video at a three-day “business success” seminar. It was marketed as a free event teaching people how to scale their business to six figures. But the reality? It was just a carefully orchestrated funnel to squeeze people — often young, hopeful, or vulnerable — into paying up to £10,000 for a mentorship package.
